Here is a list of the fields (with details) for which a person can enter data for an organism regarding the source publication.
| Notes | A catch-all field to elaborate on present character state data or to note things not listed in character state choices, e.g. "Authors describe round Woronin bodies, not visible in figure.", "Unusual electron-transparent vesicles present near pore." |
| Character Illustration | Is the character state illustrated in the source reference? Useful for situations when a character state is only described in the text without images. |
| Character Quality | Rating of fixation quality in electron micrographs -- poor, fair, good, high. |
| Fixation | General protocol used to preserve organism, e.g. gluteraldehyde with osmium postfix, high pressure freezing, etc. |
| Study complete | Is data present for all characters listed for vegetative and reproductive stages? Yes or no. |
| Author | Author(s) of source publication in reference format, e.g. McLaughlin, D.J., Celio, G.J., Padamsee, M., and Dentinger, B.C. |
| Date | Year of source publication |
| Source | Journal and pages of source publication, e.g. Mycologia 61:14-34 |
| Changes to Character Definition | Reinterpretatin of the character described in the source reference. |
| Lit. Identifier | Potential location for outside link to source reference; not in use yet. |
| Other Sources | Additional references that were used to fill in character data for the organism, or that are useful for further study |
| Entered By | Initials of contributor who entered the data, e.g. DJM |
